Progress
Well my only 2 friends lol its been six weeks now since I started at The Bionic Group in Pinewood studios and alot has happened. Only yesterday, I worked till 10pm to get a project finished and it was a different experience working so late to hit a deadline. This week I visited a property just around the corner from Pinewood studios and I mean, just round the corner. Less than a 10 minute walkaway. Hopefully I get the all the clear monetary wise and I can move in next weekend :) But I tell you, the worst thing about this job is being so far away from friends and family. The 100 mile trek, there and back is not getting any easier and is starting to tell. I just want somewhere to call home and settle down in this new chapter of my life. In fact my first car Rosie, had a bad week last week and is soon to be scrapped :( She served her purpose, getting me to and fro but was causing too many problems. Anyways enough about my personal life, work wise I have completed two projects for major construction companies and about to work on my third. Not sure if my work speed or accuracy has increased significantly yet but my tool knowledge has grown and I have always loved learning new skills and ways to improve my work flow. I hope to write again soon in my new place but if that doesn't happen, so what, only you two care loooool

Job Sucess
Hey bloggers, well finally I have some good Job news. I have been offered a trial at The Bionic Group (http://www.thebionicgroup.com/) in Pinewood Studios in relation to getting a permanent job there.. Amazing! I am over the moon, what an opportunity, I get to work at Pinewood studios everyday! The only problem is the daily commute, over 1.5 hours in the car :( Obviously I will look for somewhere to live after I get offered the job but its come around so quickly. I could be back living on my own again within the month, after being home for nearly 3 years since finishing Uni.

Water Tower
I have been following a tutorial on CGTuts about making and texturing a Water Tower.. It has been very interesting and whilst completing it, I have also learnt a new technique for adding slight detail to models.. The Push/Pull tool. Here is my model..
Job Hunting
Hey guys and gals, I feel I am getting closer to the prize of working full-time in the 3D industry. Last month I worked for Autonomy, on a iPhone app and met some lovely people, after that I worked for SquareZero in Shoreditch as an Intern where I learnt quite alot about Animator and their habits. Anyway, this all helps look good on your CV and I managed to get an interview at Bionic in Pinewood Studios, where fingers-crossed, I might get a full-time job. Just waiting to hear back.. In the meantime I am continuing on with my Submarine project and Water Tower - texturing project plus applying for more jobs.. I will keep you posted.

Life..
Well my firends, how have you been? I knew I called this blog 'Freelancing' for a reason.. the freelancing job windmill has been busy.. I know no longer work at Autonomy due to the company stressing a focus on the need for experienced Animators, even though none look to be in place within the foreseeable future, and my work taking as long as others.. what were they thinking in hiring 6 3D generalists in the first place? I guess the fact I was costing more than my colleagues was an issue but a cheap one if that. Nevermind, the placement at SquareZero is now my priority and I have heard that I may start next week.. Until then, I plan on finishing my Man O'War Submarine. Yesterday I completed a tutorial on creating water, and tried to crack the reactor tool in order to get realistic water movement. Today I have been editing the Sub textures, adding more detail, here are my results..

Update..
Hello my fellow bloggers, its been a long time since my last and a lot has happened. I did not get the Lizlake job but I did get the opportunity to work as a contract animator at Autonomy in London and that is where I am now. Long days but well worth it and coincidentally I have managed to secure an Internship with SquareZero, also in London when I finish my contract. So now you must understand why I haven't written sooner.

Latest News
Well hello there my dears, its been a while but as you can see I have been busy working on my church and looking for work. Guess what, I got a second interview for LizLake (http://www.lizlake.com/) which is tomorrow 20/5 for AutoCAD test and my church is my best work to date. So things are looking up, lets keep this ball rolling.... I am planning on finishing my Submarine scene with water and I plan to create a little piece for my mum, referencing the Beatles yellow submarine : )
Here is my latest church image with a window added to the bell- tower, as requested my family critics. I think this final detail just finishes the piece.. Let me know what you think. Talk soon guys when hopefully I will have more news about LizLake. Bye

Update: Submarine
Hey guys and gals,
Its been a long since my last blog and I've been upto a whole bunch of things: applying for internships, working and generally being busy. I hope you like my Submarine, I do and I have had alot of positive feedback :) The only negative point is that the cannon does not have any textures, so I have remedied that and here it is...

New Project: Submarine
Here is my new project. A submarine based on an old game. It has been modelled using reference images found on the internet. Hope you like it!!
Here is the Submarine Fin which I have modelled entirely using the edge-technique. I like to model using this technique because I feel it offers more control over the shape and positioning of the vertexs.
Here is the completed base model. I'm happy with that, now to add the fine details. Windows, Bolts etc

As you can see from the image below. I have applied a skin texture now... the skin looks more metallic and my own designs of the champions sword and leg braces are now taking shape.

Chin Up!
Unfortunately, I didn't get either of the jobs :( That will not stop me though, I have continued to apply for 3D jobs and heard of a few companies in London with vacancies, and intend to get my showreel out there.
The most disheartening thing is the lack of feedback; how am I meant to improve and change my approach if they do not give any detail in the areas of 3D or interview technique I lack!

Good News
I am soo happy!! Was offered two interviews this week, one for an animation company in Coventry and another for a Hospital job (which, for those who know me. I seem to specialize in getting!) But not only that, I was offered an interview for Framestore this week as a runner. I could not believe my luck until they said they wanted to interview me on the same day as my other Animation job :( I wait 2 years for an animation position interview and get offered two interviews on the same day!
Have been preparing for the Animation interview by putting together my Showreel. Will upload as soon as possible for your viewing.
